Saturday, August 19th, 2006I have learned so many things from my father and teacher Rav Berg. Perhaps my most cherished lessons are the ones in which he taught me how to treat people:
“Give people breathing space. Listen to them and hear what they have to say. Respect everyone without focusing on and being influenced by their external appearance, and above all, make enough room in your heart where you can love someone without thinking about what you can get in return.”
That last bit has always been hard. Loving someone without thinking about what I can get in return. What about you? Where in your life are you sharing “with strings attached?”
