We all have recurring troubles we struggle with. Drugs. Overeating. Anger. Cheating. And so on. The reason these forces keep getting the best of us is we know we should change but we don’t really want to change.

What I have learned from my father and teacher Rav Berg is change is what happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of changing.

Either way we are going to change. The beauty of Kabbalah is it teaches us to foresee the consequences of our actions now so we can avoid the pain later on. The choice is there. Kabbalah reminds us we have it.

What behavior do you know you should change but don’t want to? Imagine the possible negative consequences of continuing as you are. Imagine yourself one year down the line. 5 years. 20 years.
