We’re not out of the woods yet! Though the three most negative weeks of the year are over, like eating a really garlicky pizza, we still stink even after we’ve left the restaurant.

In these next few days, the energy of anger and destruction is still on us. We need to continue being vigilant with our words and deeds. Situations will continue to pop up all around that will test our patience and spiritual resolve. We need to continue walking away and remaining calm. We may not be calm on the inside, but that will come soon enough. For now we simply want to avoid burning anyone out with our stink.

This week’s Zohar/Torah portion begins with the quote: “And it shall be when you listen…” This verse refers to one of the most difficult virtues a human being could hope to attain: listening with an open mind.
