Gut or Gutter?
August 14th– August 20th, 2005
In the Monthly Tune Up I wrote for the Leo E-Newsletter, I explained that relationships are meant to be used as spiritual tools for achieving our correction.
Last week a student emailed me asking, “I am currently in a relationship and I think I love this guy. But how do I know if this feeling is a message from the Light or from my Opponent?”
We’ve all experienced this dilemma. Sure, Kabbalah sounds simple in the classroom, but it gets a little tricky in real life. We learn to be wary of our emotions because they are fickle but at the same time we are taught to trust our intuition.
How do we tell the difference?
The Zohar teaches us that the way out of this dilemma is to ask a simple question: “am I connecting to the Light through my actions?”
And only we can know the answer (with the help of the Light of course.) We can’t look to others to tell us if we are doing what we know we need to be doing. We must be brutally honesty with ourselves to see if are working our spirituality.
After we decide, “yes, I am moving forward and am in a much better place than I’ve been in a long time” or “no, I’ve been Mr. or Mrs. Reactive and I haven’t picked up a Zohar in months,” then what is required is certainty. Certainty that if we are with the Light, the messages we’re receiving are real. The certainty we inject should be the same certainty we have that the sun will rise every morning.
If we’re not doing all we can, we must inject the certainty that if we do step up our efforts, the right answers will come. And the truth be told, there’s always room for growth for all of us because if we were perfect, we wouldn’t be here.
If we put in the effort and trust that the right messages will come, they will.
Have a beautiful week.
All the Best,
Yehuda
