Feeling the Pain of the Others

One of the most important of all spiritual lessons is the need to truly feel the pain of others as our own. This might sound simple and familiar but it is neither. It is paramount for us to realize how distant we are from this spiritual level, so that we know how far we need to develop ourselves.

We all innately have a natural feeling of compassion when we hear of other people’s problems. But there is a great distance between that feeling of compassion and truly feeling the pain of another person as our own.

The Angel’s Song

The This week is going to be a week of extremes - things will be really good or really bad; they will make complete sense or no sense at all.

The Zohar, the main text of Kabbalah, teaches us this week that the Light cannot be revealed to us without challenges and problems. That’s simply how the Light travels to us - through the effort we make at choosing Light over dark.

If You Only Knew

‘What do I want to do with my life’ Glennis Bastien asked herself recently. She is in the last stages of a debilitating fight with terminal cancer. Her answer came to her not too long after.

She has committed her self to using what little energy she has left to make a difference in this world. She is giving back to the place that brought blessings into her family’s life - the Spirituality for Kids Outreach Program. Her mission is to raise $26,000 to sponsor at least 15 at-risk families for one year.
