You have eyes - but do you see?

October 24 - October 30, 2004

This week we have the ability to see the truth about things that we weren’t able to see before.

TThis sounds good, but it’s a little scary, too, isn’t it? Seeing the truth is not always a pleasant experience, particularly if it’s something you don’t want to face up to or that requires change.

Usually we try to see by asking people for advice. We want to know what they think of what we’re doing. When it’s a personal issue, we need confirmation from friends. When it’s a business decision, we want validation from professionals. We always want input.

It’s interesting though that for the most part we don’t want advice in areas where we think we’re strong or know a lot. But in other areas, we readily accept advice.

The first question to ask is, ‘why do we want other people’s opinions? Why do we need approval for our thoughts and feelings? Is it coming from a need?’

There are many times when we have ideas or theories about something and to prove our point we go out and find people that agree with us. However, that’s not really getting advice, is it? It’s more like intentional validating.

There is a saying in Aramaic from The Zohar that states, “If a person has a worry in his heart, he should speak about it.”

When we have something on our minds or are worried, it’s because our vessel (our capacity) is limited. Anything inside is something that we can only think about within the framework of our correction. If all we have is our own view, isn’t it limited? We can only see things one way. We have to have other views to see the truth.

If a worm is in an apple, its view of the world is that it’s white and moist. But if it works its way out, what does it see? There is a whole world out there with a different landscape. This is how we live. When we have a limited perspective, we don’t see what we’re missing. We only see what we think we are - not what we really are.

It’s important, then, to talk about our doubts or things on our mind, even when it’s not easy.

The Zohar says that if we keep it in, then we just see it from the view of our correction, but if we let it out, then we can learn.

If there is a problem and it’s difficult, then there is a klippa (layer of negativity) to break. There’s negative energy there to come out. If we don’t let it out, then we can’t see the problem and others can’t see it either. We should bring it out because our intention is to change.

This week jump into the scariest moment and know that you’ll be able to handle it. Ask for help, but ask the real questions, the ones that are uncomfortable to ask and even hard to hear an answer to. That’s where the real potential for growth is concealed.

Now, the only question is: who to get advice from?

We need to find people who have similar values to our own; which means we have to make sure they’re spiritually transforming, sharing beings. Additionally, we should seek advice from people that have succeeded in the areas we want to change.

The Zohar teaches us that there is a paradox when asking for advice; that we can listen to what we think is the best advice, but it could end up being the biggest Satan in our life.

How do we know what good advice is? How do we know we won’t be confronted with negative energy? If the answer is uncomfortable, does that make it good? It does raise the stakes that it could be right. But is it true that if we hear what we want to hear, that it’s wrong? Is it about intuition? And intuition is STRONG in the month of Scorpio. Is it how we feel about something?

That is exactly what it’s NOT. If we make decisions based on how we feel, then it’s a complete illusion! Feelings are all illusion! We can love someone one day, then hate them the next. We can’t ever believe that we can trust someone just because we “feel” that we can.

So how do we know if it’s illusion or not?

We learn from The Zohar that if we don’t first confirm that the person we’re asking advice from is all about sharing and spiritual work; then we shouldn’t listen to their advice - and better yet, don’t even ASK for it!

Listening to the wrong people is how we fall into our destiny rather than rising above it.

On a different note, The Zohar says we have the ability this week to get a vaccine in all the places where we have no Light. If there are problem areas in your life that you just can’t get out of, this week you will get the inner sight and strength to correct them.

Sometimes our rational thinking is limited, but our vessel is not! We can do anything! That is the energy of this week. There is no limit to what we can achieve. Illogical things that ’seem’ bigger than our frame will come to us to show us how big our vessel really is and how much we can handle.

Seek out the unexpected from unknown sources, don’t fall into the limitation of the five senses. If you think you have it all figured out, for sure you know nothing.

Have an amazing week and ask for the ability to see.
All the Best,
Yehuda Berg
