The End is in the Beginning

We are quickly approaching Rosh Hashanah.  As you hopefully know by now, if we do the work of self-examination this month, we can look forward to a new beginning next month.

Kabbalah teaches us to pay special attention to beginnings of all kinds.  For example, it says in The Zohar, that our first thoughts upon awakening in the morning determine the nature of our entire day. If we begin with appreciation for the opportunities that every day presents, the positive energy of that thought will permeate the hours that follow.

Take off Your Clothes

The most amazing thing about this month is that we get to see all of our garbage.

All that’s wrong with us starts shooting to the surface, and the more we want to see it, the more it will appear. Why is this good? It’s good because on Rosh Hashanah we have the opportunity to actually return the cells, tissues, organs - and our very lives – back to its previous pure and uncorrupted state.

To do this we need to look within this entire month and ‘clean house’ on our negativity. There’s no other way to prepare for Rosh Hashanah.
