March 23 – April 20

Happy New Year? It’s not January 1st, it’s not Rosh Hashana. Well, contrary to conventional wisdom, the new year – according to the astrological calendar – begins with the month of Aries, which starts Monday night.

And what a powerful first month it is. The time of Aries embraces the awesome energy of order, and offers us the opportunity to remove any semblance of chaos or uncertainty that is headed our way. However, the universal impediment to our dream of a life of complete joy and fulfillment (without the side-effects), is our innate desire to receive for the self alone – a.k.a. March 14th – March 20th

We all come into this world with spiritual defects that need correcting. These imperfections have accrued over previous lifetimes, and we cannot rid ourselves of their negative influences until they are mended.

Sometimes we lack the emotional courage and spiritual strength to correct all of our flaws. What’s more, our egos use many devious tactics against our own best interests. (more…)

The Weekly Consciousness Tune-Ups are intended to help you focus in on your life, so that you can experience positive changes. However, this week I would like to get you to enlarge that focus to include the world around you.

There is a story of two men rowing a small boat across a lake. Suddenly, one man starts drilling a hole in the bottom. The other man yells, “What are you doing”, and the first replies, “What are you worried about, I’m drilling on my side of the boat!”

Though this answer seems preposterous, the truth is, this is how we think. We do not see the bigger picture of how our actions affect our surroundings. (more…)
