One of the most important projects I am working on currently is a new program to train new Kabbalah teachers, who can assist in getting this amazing wisdom to as many people as possible.
If you are interested in this important opportunity, this is the initial application form: http://www.kabbalah.com/teachertraining_withform.php

Malawi, a Pennsylvania-sized country in southeast Africa, has four things in abundance: AIDS, malaria, drought, and tobacco (its major crop). It also has a functioning democracy and little conflict. To date, therefore, it has not attracted much attention from the rest of the world. But that’s about to change. Malawi is about to be hit by a force that has thrown much more robust countries for a loop. Her name is Madonna.

Staying Connected
Dear friend,
As The Kabbalah Centre continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, it’s important now more than ever that you are informed about the projects happening here. My intention is to write you a letter on a regular basis, letting you know about the initiatives we are working on that are leading us towards fulfilling the most important goal there is: removing pain and suffering from the world.
My hope is that this monthly letter will inspire you to continue to be a part of our mission.

We are back from Malawi. It was an amazing and overwhelming trip. I am so happy to have gone there. You can watch movies and videos and see pictures and hear people talk about what is happening in Africa, but until you are there, you cannot understand the magnitude of pain and need. All of us who went on this trip are now more than ever wanting to do everything we can to assist the children of Malawi. There is so much to share. I will be posting some pictures from Malawi. I hope these pictures and thoughts inspire you as much as they inspired us.
It was so powerful to witness the effect we are already having on the lives of the children of Malawi.
Thank you all for your support,
Love,
Michael

The teachers have begun their work…
April 24th, 2006

We have brought a number of teachers from the African nation of Malawi to Los Angeles. This is part of our Raising Malawi initiative. They will be learning the Spirituality For Kids curriculum for the next 3 months. After that, they will go back to Malawi and teach the children there these empowering spiritual life lessons. I am very excited about this project. This morning we welcomed them to the Centre.
I will post some pictures soon.
It is a very exciting day.

WHAT IS RAISING MALAWI?
It is Michael Berg’s vision to bring light to all parts of the world. What better place to start than in the african nation of Malawi.
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, suffering from famine, drought, poverty, and diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis.
Out of a population of 12 million, at least 1 million are orphans.
Raising Malawi is a grassroots initiative offering lasting solutions to the orphans of Malawi. Our approach is comprehensivee, compassionate, and effective. Unhindered by obstacles such as bureaucracy and red-tape, Raising Malawi is run and staffed by volunteers, allowing us to raise these children up from powerlessness into self-empowerment – quickly and directly.
Our solutions are:
•Provide immediate and direct physical support such as food, medical care, clothing, clean drinking water, psychosocial counseling, and schooling.
•Provide sustainability. We are partnering with agricultural, medical, and educational experts to teach Malawians how best to improve these areas in the long run in order to create continuity and prosperity.
•Create a sense of self empowerment. This is where real societal change begins. To this end we are co-creating a curriculum with local Malawian teachers (based on the principles of the Spirituality for Kids Program) that empowers children with universal life skills.
Through an improved inner dialogue and strengthened sense of empowerment, Malawi’s orphans will grow up in control of their destiny and able to reverse the destructive patterns that have permeated their society for generations.

WHAT IS RAISING MALAWI?
It is Michael Berg’s vision to eliminate chaos in the darkest parts of the world. What better place to start than in one of the most challenged places on the planet, the African country of Malawi. Malawi is the second poorest country in the world, suffering from famine, drought, poverty, and diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and cholera.
OUT OF A POPULATION OF 12 MILLION, 1 MILLION ARE ORPHANS.
